Combining established lines with sections of new climbing, Lizzy Scully and Heidi Wirtz made the first free ascent of South Howser Minaret (2,500′) in late August 2002. They named their route Bad Hair Day (V 5.12, 18 pitches). A full account of their expedition appears in Issue 2.
