On August 26, Ondra Benes of the Czech Republic redpointed The End Of Silence, the eleven-pitch 5.14a in Germany’s Berchtesgaden first completed by Thomas Huber in 1994. Climbing.com reports the recent ascent marks the second route Benes has climbed of the “alpine trilogy”: The End Of Silence, Silbergeier (5.14a) and Des Kaisers neue Kleider (5.14a). Two years ago Benes climbed Silbergeier; only Stefan Glowacz and the late Harald Berger have completed all three.
