Waggoner, Alien Inventor, Dies at 53

David Leon Waggoner, 53, died October 7 in his Laramie, Wyo. home. He was owner and manager of Colorado Custom Hardware and inventor of Alien camming devices.

Waggoner was born December 20, 1955 in Fort Collins, Colo., where he remained until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Waggoner worked as a welder in Four Corners, Colo. before inventing Aliens in 1986 and founding Colorado Custom Hardware nearby, in Durango. In 1991, Waggoner moved his operation to Laramie, where it remains today.
