From February 20-21 Exum Guides Nat Patridge and Bill Liberatore skillfully led Jackson skier David DeFazio in the first guided mid-winter ski descent of Wyoming’s Grand Teton. Not an easy risk to take in the winter. After unsuccessfully finding the necessary weather window for a summit attempt in 2006 and 2007, the recent high-pressure system brought on the perfect opportunity. The trio skied from the summit, enjoying boot deep powder, via the Ford Couloir, rappelled down the Chevy Couloir and through the bottom of the Stettner Couloir, finishing up with turns off the Tee Pee Glacier down to Garnet Canyon and out to Bradley Lake.
