2007 ALPINIST FILM FESTIVAL TO TAKE PLACE AT JACKSON’S NEW $36 MILLION CENTER FOR THE ARTS

Jackson, Wyoming — January 17th, 2007 — Alpinist Magazine announced today that the 2007 Alpinist Film Festival, which will be held March 15-17, will take place at the new $36 million Center for the Arts in downtown Jackson, Wyoming. The Festival is slated to be one of the Center’s first opening events.

“We’re excited to be part of this first chapter for the Center for the Arts’s new theater,” said Festival Founder and Director Christian Beckwith. “By holding the third annual Festival at the Center, we’ll literally surround the event with our community and all that it has to offer.”

The Center for the Arts, working with the Town of Jackson and Teton County, is a 41,000 square foot arts venue; the theater, which seats 525, is the final element of its construction. Planning on the Center, which was envisioned as a showcase for local arts organizations and artists, began in 1991. Construction is nearly complete. The grand opening for the Center’s theater is currently scheduled for March 3.

Tickets for The 2007 Alpinist Film Festival will soon be available through The Center for the Arts and can be purchased through their box office and online by visiting the Center’s website at www.jhcenterforthearts.org.
